Richard photographs people. Weddings are the flower of relationship and it is a joy to capture the day through images and tell the story
of the day in magazine style wedding albums. Wedding Photography is very different from Corporate Portraiture and Entertainment photography.
These two are fulfilling the marketing needs of projects and the business of promotion. Coming from a background in publishing makes the
needs of Art Directors and their deadlines understandable. So, if I am capturing your special day or crafting promotional projects, you will
love the ease and comfort of my shooting style and enjoy the creative environment at the studio near the Oakland Emeryville line.
I offer a combination of fun-candids, photo-journalism and beautiful wedding portraiture. With years of studio experience, my emphasis is
capturing the day in photographs and putting together the wedding albums to meet your specific needs. You can receive your photos in the
new styles, a magazine style album which is completely digital and hand-designed in Photoshop or the traditional wedding album.
I often take my clients out to the streets for a real urban street look. I love the contrast between the traditionally dressed bride and groom
against the cityscape on the streets of San Francisco. Whether you are at the Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill or overlooking City Hall from the
opulence of the Green Room, , your photography will have a distinctive San Francisco flair.
In Marin and the East Bay, I enjoy working in venues that express the natural settings, such as the Brazilian Room and the Maybeck designs of
the Marin Art Center. B&B’s all over the bay area offer a cozy English Garden feel, such as the Inn at Benicia Bay. From the Faculty Club on
the Berkeley Campus to the panoramic and historical elegance of the Jefferson Mansion in Benicia, the Bay Area is one of the most photographic
cities in the world.
From Livermore to Napa and Sonoma, the wineries are so warm and inviting that your guests don’t want to leave.
Whether the venue is in San Francisco, Marin, Oakland, Berkeley, Walnut Creek , the Wine Country or the beaches of Monterey, my dedication and
professionalism will shine and my photography will bring back memories of your special wedding day.
I love taking photos of the flowers and the reception room as it is set up with the florist and caterers creating their magic. Photographing
bands as they entertain and the food as it is presented is all part of the telling of the story and fabric of telling the story of your day.
I take solid corporate photography of today’s business leaders, educators, writers or anyone who recognizes the importance of images in
communication. Although I prefer to get clients into the studio, I do location set-ups to meet the needs of busy professionals. Whether you
need an executive head shot or an image to accompany press articles in the company newsletter, my expertise can add a dynamic touch.
I shoot many promotional photos and CD covers for bands in the Bay Area. My “motion” photos reflect the electricity of today’s high-energy
bands. Traditional portraiture style is used for Motown and Classical music. Wide angle shots work well for “rock bands with attitudes” and
up-close and in your face high angles can help express the creative nature in hip-hop.
